Just Do It! Put one foot in front of the other! Step ahead! Move!
Is it that simple? Never. What is Move!? When new experience changes an old one, we move.
After watching the movie Jaws, we get scared of the water. As a kid, it took me months to stop worrying about sharks every time I sat on the toilet. How do we come to trust water again?
When we change experience, we descend into it and live there for a moment. The experience itself become malleable, something we might grasp and change. We ascend out of it with fresh insight. And as we associate
this updated understanding to our general life experience, we transcend it. We Move!
To start the process can be hard. Who didn’t try to ignore memories of the worst scenes in Jaws? To move, we must be willing to encounter our upsetting experience of these scenes. To encounter, we find courage. Without courage, we are stuck.
Stuck? ... Move!
We move all the time. We have great ‘move’ skills. But for the most part, these skills have not been purposefully developed and are not given conscious direction.
Move! is a simple act, often under daunting conditions. Like all skills, with knowledge and practice, we can develop mastery and a sense of purpose.
Just Do It! Is it that simple? Never. Why can it be so hard? Why turn away? What do you fear?
What is the antidote for fear? Courage - the recognition
of our own ability, worthiness and acumen.
